Constitution & Bylaws
Introduction
The Constitution and Bylaws of Hapur Press Club provide the foundational framework for the governance, administration, and operation of the organization. These rules are designed to ensure transparency, accountability, professionalism, and democratic functioning while promoting the interests of journalists and upholding the principles of ethical journalism.
Hapur Press Club operates as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and all activities of the organization are conducted in accordance with its Constitution, applicable laws, and established policies.
Objectives of the Club
The primary objectives of Hapur Press Club are:
- To promote ethical, independent, and responsible journalism.
- To protect the professional interests and rights of journalists.
- To encourage freedom of expression and press freedom.
- To provide a common platform for journalists and media professionals.
- To organize educational, professional, and social activities for members.
- To strengthen cooperation between journalists, public institutions, and society.
- To promote professional development through training programs, seminars, and workshops.
- To undertake welfare initiatives for the benefit of members.
Membership
Eligibility
Membership may be granted to individuals engaged in journalism, media, communication, or related professional fields, subject to the eligibility criteria established by the Executive Committee.
Membership Categories
The Club may recognize the following categories of membership:
- Ordinary Member
- Associate Member
- Honorary Member
- Corporate/Institutional Member (if applicable)
The rights, privileges, and obligations associated with each category shall be determined by the Executive Committee and approved in accordance with the Club’s Constitution.
Membership Approval
All membership applications shall be reviewed by the Executive Committee. Membership shall become effective only upon approval and completion of all required formalities.
Membership Responsibilities
Members shall:
- Uphold the values and objectives of the Club.
- Maintain professional conduct and ethical standards.
- Respect the Constitution and decisions of the Club.
- Support activities and initiatives organized by the Club.
- Refrain from activities that may damage the reputation of the organization.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall serve as the governing body of Hapur Press Club and shall be responsible for:

- Membership administration.
- Financial management and accountability.

- Protection of members’ interests.
The Executive Committee shall consist of elected or appointed office bearers as specified by the Constitution of the Club.
Meetings
General Meetings

Executive Committee Meetings
The Executive Committee shall meet periodically to review operations, approve decisions, and oversee the administration of the organization.
Elections
Where applicable, elections for office bearers and committee positions shall be conducted in a fair, transparent, and democratic manner in accordance with election guidelines approved by the Club.
Eligible members may participate in the election process as prescribed by the Constitution and membership rules.
Financial Management
The financial affairs of Hapur Press Club shall be managed responsibly and transparently.
The Club may generate funds through:

Amendments
The Constitution and Bylaws may be amended, revised, or updated as required to meet the evolving needs of the organization, subject to approval by the competent authority and in accordance with applicable regulations.
Compliance
All members, office bearers, and committees of Hapur Press Club shall be bound by the provisions of the Constitution and Bylaws and shall work collectively to uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
